Nominations have begun for the Abuja Young Entrepreneurs Awards (AYE Awards) 2013, organised by Fusion Lifestyle Ltd.
The awards were created to celebrate
young ingenious business owners in the FCT who are usually not given the
same recognition as their counterparts in other cities. With the recent
increase in the number of award ceremonies, the organisers feel it is
imperative to explain the reason behind the awards.
Here is a statement from Fusion Lifestyle:
“Abuja is a fast
growing city with a lot of ingenious businesses springing up, most of
which are run by young business owners between the ages of 21 and 35
years. These young people are working tirelessly to come up with
business solutions which in the past were accessible only in other parts
of the country, and indeed the world. Regardless of this, they are
always relegated to the sidelines in terms of recognition and falsely
put under the stereotype of rich spoilt kids. We therefore felt it was
time to get some recognition for these hard working enterprising
individuals as well as letting the world know about their businesses. We
at Fusion lifestyle work very closely with young entrepreneurs from all
over the country, and feel we have a certain leverage in that regard,
for the organisation of such an award ceremony. We are very passionate
about entrepreneurship and strongly believe it should be celebrated and
encouraged.”
According to Fusion Lifestyle Limited,
the maiden edition of the awards which was held in April 2012 was a
resounding success and they are working tirelessly to make sure the 2013
edition surpasses this.
