Club World Cup: Chelsea Beat Monterrey 3-1

Juan Mata and Fernando Torres scored a goal each in the 3-1 defeat of Monterrey FC Thursdayafternoon, and handed Chelsea aplace in the final of the ongoing FIFA Club World Cup holding in Japan. Mata netted the opener in the 18th minute, while Torres scored the second in the 46th minute. Chelsea’s third was an own goal through Darvin Chavez, who was under pressure in the game. Chelsea will now face Brazil’s Corinthians in the final on Sunday, 16 December, while Monterrey play losing semi-finalists, Al-Ahly of Egypt in the third-place playoff.
