At
least two people have been feared dead when an explosion rocked Plaza
junction, by Kanti Kori in Kano during the morning rush hour on Monday.
According
to reports the two people affected are a security personnel and a
passerby. JTF officials have however cordoned off the area while
investigation into the attack has commenced.
Meanwhile,
spokesman of the JTF in the city, Captain Ikediche Iweha confirmed the
incident to Vanguard on the telephone, adding that he will volunteer
details as soon as they are available. In his words “our men are already
at the scene, and I hope to feed you with details as soon as we have
them.”
It
will soon be a year since that devastating bomb attack on St. Theresa’s
Catholic Church in Niger State. Not only has the government been unable
to prove that they have the security situation in the country under
control, they seem to have no clue whatsoever as to how it can be dealt
with.
