My Brother’s Death Painful – Jonathan

President Goodluck Jonathan on Tuesday described the death of his younger brother, Chief Meni Jonathan, as painful.
“It (Meni’s death) is quite painful but when this kind of thing happens, you are consoled by the type of people you see,” the President said while receiving some Nollywood stars under the aegis of G-20, who were at the Presidential Villa on a condolence visit.
The group was led by Mr. Kanayo Kanayo.
The President’s brother died last Tuesday at the National Hospital, Abuja, during an undisclosed illness. He died on the same day the President marked his 55th birthday.
Jonathan said with the condolence visit, the Nollywood stars had succeeded in lifting his spirit.
Kanayo, who spoke on behalf of the group, said the Nollywood stars were mindful of the pain the sudden death could have inflicted on the President and his family.
He however assured Jonathan of God’s capacity to breathe succour, strength and fortitude over him and his family.
He said, “As practitioners in a veritable compartment of the creative industry, known as Nollywood, we are at one with Your Excellency, family and all people of goodwill, within and beyond the shores of this land, in this time of grief.”
